Yellowstone Adventure Part I

Ahhhhhhhhhhh, my whole body took in the breath if life once again. This past week the girls and I went to Yellowstone park with my father and two of my brothers. It was magical. We started with amazing views:

After a day filled with hotpots, elks lounging in the meadow and birds of prey squawking around we stayed in some lovely cabins at the canyons

Lovely if you are into that one room paper-thin wall action. Yet, i would stay almost anywhere to wake up to the wonderful scene that laid before me. During twilight that first night we saw whole herds of buffalo foraging in the meadow. Then, the next day some came right up to our car, their soft eyes hovering next to my face. My father thinks they must like me or something.

So many things brought awe in that it is hard to mention them all, but there was one very special place we found while eating lunch. The lunch table was at the top of a small hill that gently rolled into a grassy meadow with a beautiful winding river running through. It felt almost like a cartoon as a gentle breeze lapped our hair a blew away the worries knotted in our backs. That moment could last a soul immeasurably. Thank you grandpa rowberry for a wonderful trip!

Family History

I thought I would use my sunday time to catch up on some family history. One of my friends uses her blog as a journal too, and i thought that sounded about right since i'm not likely about to make time for both. We'll start with a fun though traumatic trip in my life. It was the summer just after 8th grade, on the cusp of high school with the world in front of me (gag). Anywho, i went to Idaho for the summer. Why, because my brothers had all done it. Honestly, that was the only good reason,i guess i got away also, but i went to stay with a not-so-nice grandma in a place i didn't really know anyone. I did/do have the most fabulous step grandpa and also the promise of raspberries always looms promisingly over any trip to Idaho.

Well the trip was alright and i had my own basement along with cable TV. I also made some friends, went dancing, played in the park in the rain and was able to have some extended family get togethers. There was also the obligatory visit to Ricks College. This was all fine and good and then that fateful saturday came. Grandma said she wanted to get me something for my birthday. I like presents this was always okay with me so Grandma, Grandpa and me made our way to the local or should I say only JC Penny in Idaho Falls, the only store Grandma frequents. I went in with hopes of a shirt maybe a short set, but no instead Grandma wanted to get me some bras. I'm wouldn't lie and say i didn't need it. I had grown up or out in the past two years, my mother was at a stretch a B cup and I had been scraping by with some handy sports bras. So with Grandma and Grandpa in tow i was measured and fitted for my first real bra. For those of you who have never had this experience there was no shirt or modesty involved here, but some unknown woman armed with her trusty measuring tape taps on your dressing room door where a topless you is measured and then subjected to endless bra fittings. Then, if you are any larger then a C they try extra hard to find you something that at least has a flower on it, since the monstrosity that you will be wearing is not fun or flirty in anyway. After the trauma ended and the proper size was found I stood in the lingerie department of JC Penny while my grandparents discussed whether I should get two or three bras. I'm not sure if grandma or grandpa won out, I'm still trying to block the conversation to this day.......and yet I lived on

Cas Haley

">
This is from last year's America's Got Talent, but Mary loves it so much we've watched it a thousand times, and I thought I would share it, enjoy!

Shake it baby Shake it.

Here is Evyn shaking it. She is a crazy eater, just in case you've never seen her in action. I will try to capture that next time.

Our gorgeous Mary! This first pictures from easter, she's a fan of the pearls and dresses etc. Mommy tries to oblige as much as possible. She is getting so old now, i know she's only three but she can do almost anything and always wants to try (except for tubing, we were at the lake yesterday and she'd ride in the boat, but not in the tube). Mary loves to read to herself and I love to see that. She is also a wonderful sister, we got lucky on that one, because she tries to help her sister as much as possible.

We took Mary to see and outdoor production of Beauty and the Beast this week with Grandma Rowberry who was in town and Mary just loved it. She sat mesmerized for the whole 2+ hours and at the end proceeded to tell us that the Beast wasn't a beast anymore because she broke the spell.

Before

WHile the computer is up and running i thought i post the pictures from john's sledding accident earlier this year. we are of course looking for medical contributions and a grave deal of sympathy. John actually looks great now, i will post some current pictures soon. The cool thing is after the plastic surgery they told us john's new and improved titatnium left side will age slower then the right, aweeeeesommmme.

After

I didn't want to scare everyone with the news of john's plastic surgery so i thought i post his picture now, as you can see they did a great job and his eyes and everything are just fine....yeah. The students of john's hottie plastic surgeon call him the jedi master, you can see why.
