John the Hottie Part I (Red Hair)

Since john will probably never write on the blog for himself I thought I would send him out my little dedication. I love John. He is wonderful. I was going to say to me, but that wouldn't be true since he is wonderful sans me, but i do love how kind he is and has always been to me. He wants me to be myself and for that i am forever grateful, but back to our subject. John was born with gorgeous red hair, and since I nor most of the world never knew him back then, here is the proof.

Could he possibly look any sweeter.

And despite his past track record, deep down he's always preferred blondes (older ones to boot)!
I love you John

Sometimes i read baby information that really just ticks me off. I feel like it leaves moms/dads helpless and alone and thinking the crazy spiral that their life is in is normal and that the fact that their baby is grouchy and cranky is just the way it is arrrrrrgh. I was reading about sleeping for babies on the site called Kellymom which i usually enjoy because it tries to be helpful and teach people how to bond with their babies etc., but the site was telling parents that it is normal for babies not to sleep through the night and even reverse their schedules and that they should just deal with it, and that it is not a problem for the baby. In my head i'm thinking yeah it's normal if that's what you let them keep doing and if not a problem for the baby means a child who isn't going to have as much energy for eating and playing during the day then i see their point.

I think it's one thing if the parents are wantinga reverse schedule and another for those moms just trying to find a way of sleeping at least 6 hours in a row. They also said that routines during the day have no impact on sleeping through the night. I speak from my limited experience when i say that's crap. We are not helpless in helping our babies and helping ourselves to sleep enough. There are things we can do even for the fussiest of babies. It might put a damper on our personal life, but really what kind of personal life are you having if your baby is screaming for half the night. Anyway i just want people to know there is hope and help.
