Leicester

I want to play catch up someday, but for now we'll stick to the recent past. In July we were able to go to England for our nieces wedding, and a wonderful vacation.

We started out in Leicester and had a wonderful time playing with Auntie Liz, Uncle Martin, Elliot and Reuben.  Isla and Reuben are only a few weeks apart so there was much mischief to be made!

While in Leicester we attempted to visit every cool place that John could remember from his childhood within a 100 mile radius, and it was beautiful! Mary is sitting in front of Foxton Locks where the canal boats are able to move up or down the hill through a series of locks.  It was fascinating watching the water fill and drain and sloooooowly move the boats in one direction or the other.

The weather also kept us on our toes.  The sky looks quite placid here, but it chucked it down on us more than once, thanks to Grandma for getting the girls there ponchos that fold into a little bag.

August Family Reunion

In August we had a great family reunion in Washington D.C. All of my brothers and sisters were there with their families including my sister Kristy who got home from her mission in Taiwan on day 2 of the reunion. We also had new family pictures taken, got to see amazing sights and had some fun slideshows from when we were little.
